에서 음악을 맡은 한재권은 장진 감독의 오랜 파트너이다. 그는 등의 영화뿐만 아니라 같은 연극에서도 장진 감독과 호흡을 맞추었다. 그래서인지 이번 영화에서도 한재권은 비교적 편안하게 음악을 사용하고 있는 것 같아 보인다. 그는 스릴을 느끼게 하는 긴장어린 분위기에서부터 코믹하고 따뜻한 분위기에 이르기까지, 인생의 다양한 단면을 화면에 담고자 한 장진 감독의 의도에 발을 맞추고 있다.
계속되는 반전이 있기는 하나 음악의 대강의 흐름은 다음과 같다: 초반전에는 스릴러 분위기, 중반전에는 코믹한 분위기, 그리고 클라이맥스라 할 상연장면에서는 웅장한 분위기. 끝에 가서는 긴장감 있는 분위기와 강렬한 록 비트의 혼합.
초반 스릴러 분위기의 음악은 관객의 심리를 집중시키기 위한 것이었을 것이다. ...
