Me'Shell Ndegeocello

Me`Shell Ndegeocello는 미국의 R&B 싱어송라이터이다. 듀크 엘링턴 예술 학교에 다니면서 다양한 음악적 소양을 쌓아간 그는 마돈나가 설립한 레이블 Maverick의 첫 번째 아티스트로 화제를 모으면서 1993년 데뷔 앨범 [Plantation Lullabies]를 발매했다. 앨범의 엄청난 성공으로 "그래미 어워드"에서 최우수 R&B 앨범상에 노미네이트되기도 했다.
 
John Mellencamp와의 듀엣곡 'Wild Night'으로 빌보드 차트에서 사랑을 받은 그는 Herbie Hancock과 함께한 [Stolen Moments : Red Hot + Cool]로 아프리카계 미국 사회의 문제를 비판했고 그해 타임지에서 선정한 올해의 앨범으로 뽑히기도 했다. 모방을 불허하는 독특한 스타일과 세련된 낭만주의 음악들을 담은 [Cookie: The Anthropological Mixtape], [Comfort Woman], [The World Has Made Me the Man of My Dreams] 등의 앨범들로 펑크, 소울, 힙합, 재즈가 혼합된 자신만의 사운드를 선보였다. .... ....
