Claudio Passavanti

Sunlightsquare (선라이트스퀘어)은 이탈리아 로마 태생의 재즈 프로듀서이자 피아니스트 Claudio Passavanti(클라우디오 파싸반티)의 라틴-재즈 프로젝트로 그의 닉네임을 딴 레이블 Sunlightsquare Records의 설립자이기도 하다. 9살 때부터 피아노 정식 교육을 받으며 자란 그는 오케스트라 작편곡을 전공하기 위해 LA로 이주하기 전까지 십대시절의 대부분을 로마의 여러 클럽에서 피아노 연주를 하는 탁월한 재능을 보여주었다고 한다. LA로 옮겨온 그는 오히려 로컬 재즈씬에서 이름을 알리기 시작하는데, 소니뮤직을 통해 칙 코리아 밴드의 드러머 Dave Weckl(데이브 워클) 등이 세션으로 참여한 첫 번째 솔로 정규작 [After Hours Ritual]을 발표하기에 이른다. 두 번째 솔로작 [The Spice]도 마찬가지로 펫 메스니 밴드의 쿠반 퍼커셔니스트 Luis Conte(루이스 콘테)와 기타리스트 Paul Jackson Jr.(폴 잭슨 주니어) 등과 협연하며 성공적인 LA 생활을 이어간다. 이후 2002년 런던에서 거주하며 퓨전 라틴, 누재즈, 살사 등에서 영감을 얻은 독창적인 그루브 사운드로 다시 한번 런던 재즈씬에 활력을 불어넣고 있다. .... ....
