마드리드에서 1986년에 태어난 루르드 에르난데스는 그녀가 자주쓰는 립스틱의 상호를 따서 러시안 레드(Russian Red)라는 가명을 지었다. 일종의 프로젝트로 시작한 러시안 레드는 루르드 에르난데스(Lourdes Hernández)가 브라이언 헌트(Brian Hunt)를 만나면서 본격적으로 전개됐다. 영국인 아버지와 스페인 어머니 사이에서 태어난 브라이언 헌트와 녹음한 몇몇 트랙들을 자신의 마이스페이스 페이지에 올렸고 그 때부터 이목이 집중된다. 업로드한 곡들은 순식간에 7만 건의 조회수를 기록하면서 점점 전세계로 뻗어나갔다. 스페인의 인디씬을 넘어 다양한 곳에서의 주목을 이끌어 내었고, 2008년도 스페인의 레이블 유레카(Eureka)에서 발표된 데뷔작 [I Love Your Glasses]는 자국 내에서 4만장 이상을 판매하면서 골드 레코드를 기록했다. .... ....
