가야금, 거문고, 아쟁 — 세 가닥 가는 명주실로 완성된 ‘현(絃)’이 악기에 얹혀, 흩어진 가락들을 하나로 모아내는 ‘현악 시나위’.
이 작품은 세 악기의 고유한 음색과 개성을 살리면서도, 새로운 감각을 얹은 조성과 장단으로 구성된 앙상블이다.
굿거리–늦은 자진모리–자진모리–휘모리로 이어지는 장단의 흐름 속에서, 계면조, 우조·평조, 그리고 강산제 특유의 '애이불비(哀而不悲)'의 정서를 담아냈다.
세 명의 연주자는 각 악기의 특성과 자신만의 해석을 담아내며, 합주·병주·독주를 유기적으로 엮어 하나의 흐름으로 풀어냈다.

Hyeon-ak Sinawi — a string ensemble formed by the gayageum, geomungo, and ajaeng, each strung with three fine silk threads — brings together scattered melodies into a unified soundscape. This piece highlights the distinct timbres and characteristics of each instrument, while exploring new tonalities and rhythmic structures.
Structured around the rhythmic progression of gutgeori – slow jajinmori – jajinmori – hwimori, the work weaves through gyemyeonjo, ujo/pyeongjo, and the poignant, yet restrained sentiment of Gangsan-je’s ae-i-bul-bi (sorrow without grief). Through a seamless blend of ensemble, paired performance (byeongju), and solo sections, each of the three performers brings their own unique interpretation and sonic expression, drawing a singular, continuous musical narrative. ....
