TRACKSRELEASESCREDITSPerformed by 삼킴 1기 (2020)
Performed by Dey Kim (Electronics), Sunki Kim (Percussion), Yeji Kim (Haegeum) Recorded by Jin Sangtae (dotolim) Mixed and Mastered by Dey Kim Photo by Yeoninsa The signal of saaamkiiim is one, yet it exists in three distinct phases. Trinity is a live album recorded at the 179th dotolim concert on March 22, 2024. saaamkiiim began as the Sonor Project on March 2, 2019, and settled into its current form on January 1, 2020. Now, in 2025, the trio marks its seventh year. What started as a small endeavor in a basement rehearsal space during a biting winter has now endured seven winters. Over time, their sound has grown more solid and refined. saaamkiiim’s music is not merely a collection of improvised sounds. It moves fluidly between tension and release, meticulously constructing layered textures. At times, it evokes shamanistic atmospheres; at others, it becomes irresistibly playful. In this performance, the trio’s three phases intertwine more tightly than ever, weaving intricate interferences. This is the density of the time they have traversed—a sound in constant evolution. The sound of saaamkiiim, blending haegeum, drums, and electronics, bridges the raw textures of traditional instruments with modern experimentalism. “Loops of electronic textures and the piercing cuts of the haegeum build an atmosphere of tension—sometimes shamanic, sometimes irresistibly playful.” — Beats 4 Peeps Their performances often carry a textural quality inspired by nature, incorporating sonic elements that flow like wind or drip like falling water. “Droplets of electronic sound, like stalactites dripping in a cave, blend with the shifting tones of the haegeum, merging seamlessly with cymbals that shimmer like icy mist.” — New York Music Daily Performed by Dey Kim (Electronics), Sunki Kim (Percussion), Yeji Kim (Haegeum) Recorded by Jin Sangtae (dotolim) Mixed and Mastered by Dey Kim Photo by Yeoninsa REVIEW |
