It’s a tough market. I just got mine. Look up Real Estate on the web for your state and check for classes. There are several class size lengths. Usually a 2, 4 and 12 week course. Each real Estate company operates differently in their pay vs. desk fees and work on a % scale and usually a monthly fee. A lot of companies will not require a monthly desk fee but will require a higher % of the commission. And then there are the signs that you must buy if you list a house. Find out these questions for the companies you inquire with.An easy way to start is after you get your license, cold call apartment communities. You can get a list if numbers from Sales Genie. You have to check the numbers with the National No Call List, so you don’t call them. Find some buyers and find them a house. A good place to start is at a new home development. Find out what their commission is to realtors. That’s another thing. Once you get your license, that doesn’t make you a realtor. It makes you a licensee. You have to pay yearly fees to be a Realtor. Being a “Realtor” gives you access to list properties in the MLS. And they give you a card to access houses listed by “Realtors”. It’s a card you put in the lock box on the door of a listed house so you can get the key to enter.But, you learn all of this in class……I did the 2 week class during my vacation. All I did was study for 2 weeks but I’m glad I did.Hope this helps.

I beg to differ on the ‘typical Kenyan meal’ being ugali, skuma wiki and meat. That may be the typical poor man’s meal in Nairobi, if that, but not everyone’s typical meal.Breakfast is usually tea, bread, and maybe eggs or sausage, and some fruit.Lunch varies – maybe fast food – chips/bhajias & sausage/chicken or kienyeji food etcSupper options of rice/ugali/chapos and random meat – usually beef and some kind of vegetables usually a stew potatoes, carrots, peas, cabbage unless with ugali then either spinach or kale or a mixture of the two, and fruit galore.For the more upwardly mobile folks, there are a plethora of restaurants to choose from and a variety of cuisines – might not be as big a selection as in the States but we’re hardly lacking in choices – Ethipian, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Italian etc and good old nyama choma.
